When planning your wedding or special event at The Stone Cellar, we understand that accommodation plays a vital role in making your celebration seamless and enjoyable for you and your guests. Our thoughtfully designed spaces, combined with clear guidelines, ensure that your overnight stay is as magical as the event itself.
Here’s everything you need to know about The Stone Cellar’s accommodation options, how they work, and tips to make the process as smooth as possible.
ACCOMMODATION OVERVIEW
Our on-site accommodation can host up to 42 guests, including the bridal couple. This is perfect for creating an intimate, stress-free experience for your wedding party and close family.
ACCOMMODATION LAYOUT
- Farmhouse: Accommodates 22 guests with shared facilities.
- 8 en-Suite Rooms: Each accommodates 2 guests.
- Bridal Suite: A private retreat for the bride and groom. This room is also used for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready in.

- Farmhouse: Features a fully equipped kitchen and dining area with:
- Stove, oven, fridge, chest freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster.
- Crockery, cutlery, and glassware for 42 guests.
- Boma
- Farm pool
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES
- Complimentary linen and towels.
- Fireplace
- Fans for warmer months and electric blankets for winter.
- WIFI in all rooms.
- Solar geysers for hot water (environmentally friendly).
- Serviced Farmhouse Kitchen: On the wedding day, our team ensures the kitchen is cleaned and serviced throughout.
BOMA AREA
The boma area is available for post-wedding celebrations, but please note:
- Firewood must be arranged 30 days before the wedding.
- Fires are only allowed in the boma area and prohibited during dry or windy months.
- Firelighters and charcoal may be brought by the bridal couple.
BOMA BAR
The boma bar is located in the accommodation area and is open from 16:00 PM – 22:00 PM the day before the wedding and from 10:00 AM until one hour before the ceremony on the day of the wedding. Sounds like a party!

Breakfast, snacks, and dinner can be provided for the duration of your stay.

Breakfast can be served the day of the wedding in the farmhouse at 08:30AM and the day after the wedding, in the venue, from 08:00 AM – 09:00 AM. It’s like a second celebration!
We require the exact number of people having breakfast, snacks and dinner as we cater per person.
A minimum of 30 guests is required for breakfasts.
Snacks for guests getting ready at the venue, as well as for the bridal party, will be served between 12:00 PM and 13:00 PM and will be served separately to the ladies and men, unless otherwise arranged with us.
There is no set menu for snacks as the chef prepares a different variety of items for each wedding – deliciousness guaranteed!
HOW BOOKINGS WORK
To avoid confusion and miscommunication, the bride and groom are responsible for allocating rooms and managing bookings (because you know which guest you want to stay over at the venue).
Guest Room Assignment: Use the accommodation layout to assign rooms to your guests. For convenience, stick guests’ names on the door of each room.
Guest Enquiries: If guests contact us directly, we will refer them back to you and provide a list of additional accommodation options in Heidelberg for overflow guests.
PAYMENT
There are two options for handling accommodation payments:
- Guests Pay the Bride and Groom: You can collect payment from your guests and pay The Stone Cellar in one installment.
- Guests Pay Directly to The Stone Cellar: If you choose this option, ensure they use the correct payment reference:
Example: First 3 letters of the room name + wedding date (e.g., CAB6APR24).
IMPORTANT PAYMENT DEADLINES
Accommodation must be fully paid 1.5 months before the wedding.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-In:
Check-in is from 13:00 PM on the booked day.
Guests can check in no later than 17:00 PM on the day before the wedding or 15:00 PM on the wedding day.
A staff member will assist guests with signing in and guiding them to their rooms.
Check-Out:
Strictly by 09:30 AM the following day.
A staff member will inspect the room for damages or items left behind.
PREPARING FOR THE WEDDING DAY
The Bridal Suite is ideal for the bride and bridal party to prepare for the big day, offering ample natural light and multiple mirrors for hair and makeup.
Groomsmen can prepare in a designated en-suite room (e.g., Pinotage, Merlot, Shiraz, or Cabernet) from 11:00 AM on the wedding day.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Noise Policy: No loud music is permitted after 02:00 AM.
Smoking Policy: Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the farmhouse or rooms. A designated smoking area is available outside with a disposal vessel.
Gated Access: The gate closes at 18:30 PM the day before the wedding, with a guard stationed to assist with entry and exit.
