How Does The Stone Cellar’s Menu Work? A Simple Guide for Couples

At The Stone Cellar, we know that planning your wedding menu can sometimes feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve made it simple and flexible, so you can create a dining experience that fits your style, preferences, and budget.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to how our menu works.

STEP 1: START WITH THE BASICS

Our catering starts at R695 per person.

You are free to personalise your menu by picking items from each category.

These categories include:

  • Welcome Drinks
  • Canapés
  • Starters (optional)
  • Main Course
  • Desserts
  • Coffee & Tea

Each item has a price listed per person.

You can choose as few or as many options as you like, as long as the total cost per person meets the minimum.

STEP 2: CHOOSE FORM EACH CATEGORY

Here’s how you can make your selections:

Welcome Drinks

  • Pick at least one drink for each guest.

Example: Homemade Lemonade (R42), Sangria Bar (R53).

Note – If you’re offering multiple drinks, you’ll need one full serving of the first option per guest and one serving of the second option for every two guests. Example: You have 100 guests – 100 Homemade Lemonade & 50 Sangria Bar

Canapés

  • Choose a minimum of three

Example: Mini Burgers (R127), Lamb Bunny Chows (R63), and a Cheese Table (R133).

Starters (Optional)

  • Choose between a plated & family-style starter.

Example: a Feta Phyllo Cigar (R105) per guest  for the plated option OR or Bread Wreath with Camembert (R99) for a family-style option.

Note – If you’d like a formal start to the meal this is a great choice. If your event is more relaxed, skip the starters and add more canapés instead.

 A family-style meal is a sharing meal.

Main Course

  • Decide on the serving style:

Plated Example: Grilled Beef Fillet – R299, or Vegan Coconut Curry – R205.

Note – A plated meal includes vegetables and a salad per table.

OR

Buffet Example: Grilled Beef Fillet With Green Peppercorn and Mushroom Cream – R299 AND Apricot Glazed Chicken Cutlets – R176

Note – A buffet selection of two meats includes a selection of 2 veg, 2 salads and 2 starch that you will select.

OR

Family Style Option 1 or Option 2 – R399

Note – A family-style meal is shared per table.

Desserts

  • Choose 1 or more dessert option.

Example: Malva Pudding with Ice Cream (R96)

Note – If you’re offering multiple desserts, you’ll need one full serving of the first option per guest and one serving of the second option for every two guests. Example: You have 100 guests – 100 Ice Cream Table & 50 Crème Brulee.

Coffee & Tea

  • Choose between a station for your guests with dessert or throughout the wedding.

Example: Coffee & Tea with Dessert – R29

STEP 3: CALCULATE YOUR TOTAL

Once you’ve selected your items, add up the prices to determine your per-person cost.

Example Menu:

Welcome Drink: Lemonade (R42)

Canapés: Bruschettas (R121), Mini Burgers (R127), Tacos (R63)

Plated Main Course: Grilled Beef Fillet (R299)

Dessert: Cheesecake (R125)

Coffee & Tea: with dessert (R29)

Total Per Person: R806
